Where do you plug in?

Where do you plug in? Every community is strengthened by the connections between us. People finding each other, sharing resources, showing up for one another, and creating space to thrive. Pride Northwest serves as a conduit for those connections by bringing people, organizations, and resources together across the LGBTQ2SIA+ community. The Community Resilience Drive is an invitation to find where you can plug in and help build a stronger community connection.

The Drive was born during the pandemic to support our overall response efforts to the unhoused crisis that was exacerbated by the pandemic. Supplies and donated funds were collected and distributed to people living outside. Having an organized drive allowed us to be more intentional and strategic in visibility. In other words, doing it as a named drive turned it into a campaign that visibility could be focused around. Pride Northwest is, by design, a non-profit organization with the flexibility to mobilize in response to urgent and emerging community needs, particularly through our Community Resilience Program. Now, the Community Resilience Drive strengthens Pride Northwest’s connection to the Portland LGBTQ2SIA+ community by investing in and collaborating with the people and grassroots organizations closest to the issues facing our communities. As a conduit for connection, resources, and visibility, Pride Northwest helps amplify community-led work and the resilience of our communities.
